ROING: The plastic-free campaign in the Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district was launched by Deputy Commissioner K.N. Damo by unveiling a signboard with the message 'Keep the mountain clean and green' as part of the campaign at Shantipur Check gate here on Monday.

The launching event was also attended by the district Superintendent of Police, Commandant from BRO, Heads of departments, representatives of the community-based organization and the newly elected PRI (Panchayati Raj Institution) members from the district.

The DC informed that a task force committee at the district, circle and village-level in coordination with the Urban Development (UD) department is underway for implementation of the campaign.

He urged the participation and cooperation of the CBOs, NGOs and the public of the district for successful implementation of the campaign.

Earlier, three vehicles under the 'Ajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY) were flagged off and also Biomass dryer sponsored by the Clean Energy Access Network (CEAN) was also inaugurated by the DC at Jia village here.
