Play staged to create awareness at Rajiv Gandhi University campus

DOIMUKH: Interns from the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) under Oju Welfare Association (OWA), undergoing field work at Women Helpline-181 WHL-181), showcased a one-act play on sexual harassment at workplace and domestic violence at RGU campus near here on Friday.

The purpose behind showcasing the play was to raise awareness and educate the people about the prevalence of physical assaults on the different sectors of life and how the victim can get guidance, protection, assistance and aid from the services of Women Helpline run by the OWA.

Moreover, it was also to let people know how the WHL-181 as a team constantly works with many eminent authorities like Legal Aid Clinic, One Stop Centre, Swadhar Greh, Police, hospitals, and many righteous citizens.

The interns and the participants learned and were empowered regarding the legal rights, services, and functions of WHL-181 on the day through the play.

The head of Social Work Department Ravi Ranjen Kumar and Field work supervisor John Gangmei along with scholars of the department witnessed the play.
