Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Tuesday said that poverty and unemployment are the biggest challenges facing the state.
Speaking during the inaugural of the Arunachal Yuva Samanvay at Jirdin in West Siang district, he said the government is working to eradicate poverty.
Mein said the state government has launched many poverty alleviation programmes and advised people to avail benefit.
He added that the government has also launched many self-employment programmes for the youth and urged them to avail benefit from the schemes.
Terming Arunachal Yuva Samanvay as the biggest platform where every youth of the different tribes and communities come into one umbrella and share knowledge, culture, etc., he said it is the platform for social integration.
The deputy chief minister praised Mothers' Vision chairperson Jumde Yomgam Gamlin, who was recently awarded Padma Shri, for tirelessly working towards eradicating drug menace in the district.
He appealed to the youth of the state to render selfless services to make Arunachal Pradesh a developed state.
