Pre-Solung Fest Celebrated At The Official Residence of DSP

PASIGHAT: With great pomp and gaiety, the Adi community of Longding District working in various departments on Sunday celebrated the Pre-Solung 2019 at the official residence of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tadong Mingki.

While speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Longding MLA, Wangnow appreciated the Adi community residing in the district for their love and dedication to organize and celebrate their tribe festival despite having little numbers of Adi people in such a far flung place.

He strongly encouraged the Adi people to continuously celebrate the festival in any corner of the state so that the cultural belief, tradition and culture of the community are sustained. He also appealed the localities of the Longding district be united, cooperative and to maintain cordial relationship amongst Adi and the other tribes too.

He also requested the community to preserve their tradition and culture and system of observing and celebration of own festival by stating that loss of culture is loss of identity.

Meanwhile, Solung festival celebration committee President Lutni Perme and Secretary Oling Taloh also deeply appreciated the encouragement given by MLA. Perme also urged all fellow Adis residing in those far flung areas serving the state government in various departments to stay united and celebrate together in such major festival of the community.
