Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), calling them the very foundation of participatory democracy and the starting point of development.

While chairing a review meeting at Boleng in Siang district on Wednesday, the minister assessed the progress of developmental works, implementation of centrally sponsored schemes, and the overall performance of grassroots governance.

He emphasised that the review was not merely procedural but a strong reaffirmation of the government’s resolve to strengthen the third tier of governance, an official statement informed here on Thursday.

Highlighting the importance of inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration, Tasing instructed departmental officials to ensure saturation of flagship programmes, transparency in fund utilisation, and active involvement of local bodies in both planning and execution stages.

“Our vision is clear, to transform every gram panchayat into a model of accountability, development, and self-reliance,” Tasing said, underscoring the goal of last-mile delivery of services.
