ITANAGAR: The Adi-Bane-Kebang (ABK) has demanded the state government to immediately probe the recent case where former APPSC under-Secretary Tumi Gangkak was found dead in mysterious circumstances by hanging himself from a tree on Friday.

Addressing the media person at the press club here today, ABK Spokesperson Vijay Taram also appealed to the public of state to refrain from communal and hate speech against the deceased and their family members. He said such communal and hate speech in the social media is unfortunate and should be brought to an end.

He said in such hard times when a family is still mourning the incident, false allegations against the deceased are not a good sign of maturity. Let the police do the investigation and accordingly bring out the truth behind the entire episode.

"My personal opinion on the death of Tumi Gangkak is that it is 'Homicide by suicide'. Whereas, the ABK has not much to say but appeal to the police department to ensure that the culprits are arrested in time and accordingly served punishment," he said.

Also, he said that the police should not treat the case like the murder case of one Ojing Tayeng and rape and murder of one lady Aroti Mize. Both cases are yet to see results besides the passing of many years.

Taram also appealed to the state government to provide security to the entire accused in connection to the APPSC cash-for-job scam and their families.

"Following the arrest of people in connection to the cash-for-job scam, there is repeated hate and communal comments on social media against the community and the family of the arrested. Therefore, the state government should ensure their safety," he added.
