ITANAGAR: The Centre has set the target for completion of all projects taken under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) I and II in Arunachal Pradesh by March next year. Keeping the targeted date for completion of PMGSY I and II in mind, state RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam took a circle-level review meeting of Rupa Circle in West Kameng district on Saturday. Taking a serious view on the delay in the completion of projects, the minister emphasised the completion of all ongoing works by March 31 next year as per the target given by the Centre, an official communiqué informed here on Sunday. "On a serious note, I have directed that non-performing officials, if found, may face departmental action," he said in a social media post.
During the meeting, he gave strong directives to engineers and contractors for working with total dedication on warfooting for fulfilment of the commitment given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for the welfare of the citizens. RWD secretary N. T. Glow advised the field engineers and contractors to prepare'realistic' action plans and to enhance their manpower and machinery for the timely completion of all ongoing projects. RWD (PMGSY) chief engineer Nyai Rigia, during the meeting, emphasised quality assurance in all components of the projects, the communiqué added.
