PSCWA demand action against illegal private schools in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: The Private Schools and Children Welfare Association- State Unit (PSCWA) has appealed to the State government and the Education Department to check the mushrooming of private schools and accordingly shut down those schools that are operating illegally.

Addressing the media persons at the APC here on Saturday, PSCWA Advisor J. Riba said that the association encourages the establishment of better schools in the State for quality education. However, we are also against those private schools in the State that are functioning without any basic infrastructure, and not fulfilling the government's guidelines.

"According to CBSE education norms, there are terms and conditions to a establish a school like proper school campus, building, playground, infrastructure etc but may of private schools are not following the guideline and randomly opening schools" said Riba.

Therefore, the association has requested the authority concerned to check and take action against the managements of such schools. Riba also informed that in the recent PSCWA meeting, the Association had taken a resolution. According to it, a teacher (private) should obtain no objection certificate (NOC) from his/her previous school to join another school.

"This particular resolution had to be taken in account because many private school teachers leave their job and join other private school without informing properly to their school authority in the mid session. Which directly hampers the classes and school management, resulting poor academic performance of students," Riba said.

Riba also said that the Association have passed a resolution that the private school will be conducting games and sport and literature competition at the state level.
