ITANAGAR: East Siang DC Tayi Taggu Tuesday exhorted the officials to work sincerely for making the district as the top performing in all developmental sectors.
He was reviewing the performance of all the government departments and executing agencies at the district level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting. Taggu said that panchayat members are partners of development and it is imperative for the departments to work in close consultation with the panchayats to achieve the development targets for various schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, zila parishad chairperson (ZPC) Olen Rome stressed coordination with panchayat members for monitoring of development works for result oriented development at the grassroots level.
Zila Parishad members Allen Tanning, Besing Tatin, Osu Borang, Aruni Jamoh have put forward their suggestions and inputs saying that panchayat members with their understanding of ground realities at grassroots, could contribute in the development process for optimum result.
The DC reviewed the progress of various central and state plan schemes besides, NEC schemes, Smart City projects, National Health Mission (NHM), municipal schemes being implemented in the district. The DC asked the departmental heads for quality and time bound completion and weekly updates of progress of the ongoing schemes.
The deputy director of school education (DDSE) urged the panchayat leaders and all stakeholders to create awareness to achieve cent per cent compulsory opening of bank accounts for school students to avail benefits of stipend, Vidya Scheme for girls, uniform, midday meals and sanitory napkins through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
