Raj Bhawan Helipad Road On The Verge Of Collapse

Our Correspondent

Itanagar: The road connecting the Raj Bhawan helipad and the Chief Minister’s private residence near BSNL Colony in the State capital is on the verge of collapse due to soil erosion. Large cracks have developed in a portion of the road, which is slowly sinking thereby posing serious threat to the lives of commuters. After the closure of two crucial roads – one at ESS-Sector and other at Division-four for maintenance, the said road is used by the commuters and VIPs to avoid the capital’s traffic snarls, which is turning from bad to worse.

Collapsing of the said stretch of road would not only cut off the alternate route for commuters but also cause inconvenience to Chief Minister’s convoy, which use it to go to Raj Bhawan helipad.

The denizens of the State capital feel that it is high time that the authorities concerned look into the situation and initiate immediate measures to protect the road as the condition of the road could turn worst and even deadly with the progress of monsoon this year.
