Rally on energy conservation taken out in Arunachal
ITANAGAR: A rally on conserving energy was organized to mark the Energy Conservation Day (ECD) under the initiative of Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) and participation by Energy Club of different government school students on Friday here. The ECD was sponsored by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) with a theme of ‘Use natural day light as much as possible’ and slogans with put off electricity to stop energy waste.
Speaking to the reporter’s director of APEDA, Marki Loya said that the day is observed around the country to create awareness among the people to minimize wastage of energy. He said that today the natural resources are being used absurdly without knowing the future consciousness of it, thus this day is to give message to people to use the natural resources judiciously.
Loya also requested the people of state to use energy efficiency appliances to cut the loss of energy. “People should take individual responsibility to switch off the fans, fridge, air conditioner and bulbs other energy sources when it is not needed to conserve more energy,” Loya said.
Further, Loya said that energy conservation will not only be helpful for the people in the long run use of energy but will also minimize the electricity bill. Added, he said that this is a very serious matter which every people should know and act on it for the future generation.
Meanwhile, a student said that today people are more inclined to misuse energy, be it water, electricity or natural gas. “When there is no need of electricity one should switch off it, the same way there should be minimal wastage of water by turning close the tape,” she added.
She also said that vehicles must also be used when it’s necessary, which will not only conserve natural gas but curtail the air pollution. She requested the people of state to join the campaign initiated by government of India to conserve the energy.
