Road Connectivity Key Solution To All Problems: Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Thursday asked State Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Urban Development Minister Kamlung Mossang to reactivate the work on Miao-Vijoynagar Road in Changlang district at the earliest.

Vijoynagar is still inaccessible by road as of now and fall under Miao assembly constituency, which is being represented by Mossang.

The Governor during a meeting with the minister at Raj Bhawan here during the day informed him that he would like to chair a meeting on reactivation of the road in his office on July 15 next, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.

During the meeting, the Governor discussed with the minister about the welfare of the people of Vijoynagar administrative circle. The minister briefed the governor about the challenges and problems of the people of the area.

While expressing his concerns about the wellbeing of the people of Vijoynagar, the Governor advised Mossang to ensure that basic commodity such as ration items are made available to them.

He emphasised that the key to the solution of the problems of the people living in remote areas was to provide them with road connectivity.

Dr Mishra said that Vijoynagar remains cut-off all through the year and extremely inaccessible during rainy season. He also advised the minister to take necessary measures so that the benefits of developmental initiatives of the State Government reach the remotest corner of his constituency and the State.

Congratulating the State Government for its stand on textbook distribution, the Governor asked the minister to ensure that textbooks and school uniforms reach to the deserving students.

During the meeting, the Governor also spoke to Changlang Deputy Commissioner RK Sharma and Border Road Organization (BRO) Chief Engineer of Project Udayak Jitendra Prasad about the alternative road alignment construction to Vijoynagar.

He asked the BRO CE to expedite the process to bring development in the area.
