Rock Band Reloaded loads a punch at Grand Finale of Multi-Media Campaign

ITANAGAR: The Rock band Reloaded emerged as the winner of the 7th Multi-Media Campaign (MMC) on HIV held at DK Convention Hall here on Sunday.

In a keenly contested Grand Finale among the 5 rock bands – Holi-Guns, Dormant, Dreamscape, Down Town and Reloaded – selected from the different zonal competition in the State, Reloaded sprang a surprise by winning the title which carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

Holi Guns received the second prize that carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Attending the programme as the chief guest, Arunachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang asked the youths to carry home the message of HIV/AIDS awareness. He also asked people to avail the free healthcare services provided under the department of Health and Family Welfare.

The objective of MMC is to educate the youth about HIV and other health issues using the platform of music so that youth remain healthy and sound. The minister also stressed that more and more youths should participate in such events so that the campaign reaches out to the target group.

Director of Health Services, Dr M Lego, while attending the programme as the special guest said youths are the backbone of the nation; if the youths are healthy, our nation is healthy.

Project Director of APSACS Dr Riken Rina in his keynote address said that the Multimedia Campaign on HIV/AIDS is specifically design under the aegis of the National AIDS Control Society for the youth, keeping in mind that sports and music is in the blood of the people of the northeastern States.

He also informed that the winner of the Grand Finale will become the Goodwill Ambassador of APSACS and will represent the State at the north east regional level competition to be held at Imphal on December 18.
