ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix has called for revamping the workforce to speed up rural development projects in various districts across the State, pointing out that performance of the present workforce system is not encouraging.

Chairing a review meeting of all the Centrally sponsored schemes under the Rural Development (RD) department here, Felix stressed on proactive participation of all the stakeholders to achieve the expected targets, informed an official communiqué here.

Felix, who also holds the RD portfolio, said that focus should be on transformation of the living standards of the rural people in the State. He suggested that the department officers must timely upload the data on 'Management of Information Systems' (MIS) so that the expected target could be achieved while implementing all the Central schemes.

The Minister also directed the department head to conduct technical training of the officials on zonal basis at five regions of the State namely Siang, Lohit, Subansiri, Tawang and Papumpare.

Felix further directed all the project directors to conduct review meetings with the block officials and submit the report to the government on a monthly basis.

During the meeting, all the project directors presented their performances on the Centrally sponsored schemes.

Advisor to the department Dambuk MLA Gum Tayeng, Secretary (RD) Amarnath Talwade, Director Kego Jilen besides all project directors of DRDAs and block development officers were present during the meeting among others, added the communiqué.
