ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Monday emphasized that the selection process in Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) must be only on merit basis without any scope for error in the selection process.

Reviewing the annual examination calendar of the APPSC with officials at Raj Bhawan here, the Governor suggested that the Commission must fix a date for the State Government to submit the requisition for various vacant posts which would be available by the end of the selection process.

APPSC chairman Nipo Nabam, member Major General Jarken Gamlin (Retd), Chief Secretary Dr Sharat Chauhan, Principal Secretary to Governor Sandeep Kumar, PWD Commissioner Kaling Tayeng and APPSC Secretary Dr Jayanta Kumar Ray participated in the review meeting.

BD Mishra said that APPSC and APSSB are very important institutions of the State, dealing with the selection of youths for Government services which result in shaping of the State and decide its progress.

Qualification marks in the prelims and physical test for Deputy Superintendent of Police and Common Recruitment Rule were also discussed in detail during the meeting, officials informed here.
