Self-defence workshop for NCC girl cadets in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: A day-long self-defence training workshop was conducted on Saturday at the battalion headquarters of 5th IRBn, by East Siang district police in Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the state’s women and child development department. The programme was conducted as a part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative of the Centre. The training was imparted to NCC (senior wing) girl cadets of Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) at Pasighat, the district headquarters.

Trained Instructor Ajay Chetri and his team provided inputs on how simple yet effective techniques could be used for self-defence when the situation arises. The workshop was coordinated by Pasighat women police station officer in-charge (OC) Ojum Riba Lollen and her associates under the supervision of SDPO Pankaj Lamba, an official communiqué informed.
