Skill Training On Traditional Canvas Painting Begins In Arunachal

Itanagar: A 30-day skill development training on ‘Thangka Painting’ (traditional canvas painting) programme sponsored by the Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship was inaugurated by DC in-charge of Tawang Dochora Lama at District Industries Centre (DIC) Tawang on Tuesday.
Assistant director of Industries Tsering Drema in her deliberation appealed to the trainees to avail maximum benefit from the training to become self-employed.
She further informed that similar kind of training was organized at Lungla on local agarbatti making and handmade paper at Jemeithang which, were also sponsored by the Director Skill Development and Enterpreneurship Department, an official release informed. “The DIC Tawang has always encouraged training on traditional art and crafts,” she added. The DC in his address encouraged the educated unemployed youths to come forward and avail such trainings organized by the government.
He asked the trainees to be skilled and let others come to them seeking for employment as there are various government schemes for unemployed youths through which one can be self-employed and also can become an employer for others.
The DC further appreciated the organizers for taking up training on traditional arts which are on the verge of extinction. Under the programme, 30 trainees will undergo training for a period of one month, the release added.
