Stage set for construction of film & television institute in Papum Pare, Arunachal

Itanagar: The much-awaited India’s third Film & Television Institute (FTI) at Jollang-Rakap in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh is going to see the light of day with the finalization of tender process in connection with its construction.

The stage is now set for the execution of Rs 128 crore-project at an area spanning 253 acres and overlooking the villages a traditional ‘Bhumi Pujan’ at the institute site on Friday.

Professor A Dutta, a faculty of Satyajit Ray Institute of Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, said that the institute will nurture talented local youths in the fields of cinematography, sound and lighting engineering, direction and other related subjects.

State Information and Public Relation (IPR) Director Obang Tayeng said that the State Government is taking every possible step for early construction of the project.

Congratulating the people of the area Tayeng called them to be a part of the project and help in building a great institute in the entire country.

Officers of various wings of CPWD including Executive Engineer Rohit Meena also participated in the “Bhumi Puja” and assured to complete the project with active support of the people.

Ha Tatu, owner of KK Construction who is also the builder of the institute has appealed to all villagers to extend every possible support in smooth sailing of the project. He assured to complete the project in two years time with full co-operation of the village communities.
