State ophthalmologist awarded

ITANAGAR: Dr Chowdim Tayang, eye specialist of District Hospital Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, has been awarded Silver Plaque Award of the Association of Community Ophthalmologists of India (ACOIN) during its annual conference held at Digha in West Bengal on September 1. Dr Tayang was chosen for the award in recognition of his community services in ophthalmology and closely associating with Avoidable Blindness Free Arunachal (ABFAR) Changlang and Seeing is Believing, Namsai projects implemented by NPCB & VI-Arunachal in collaboration with Operation Eyesight Universal, Standard Chartered Bank and Chandraprabha Eye Hospital, Jorhat, an official press release informed on Tuesday.
