State peasant leaders  attend national meet

Itanagar, July 2: The Pradesh unit president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Takali Tamuk and general secretary Ngurang Tadap attended the two-day ‘Akhil Bharatiya Prabandh Samiti Baithak’ at Kurukshetra, Haryana that concluded on Sunday.

Taking part in the discussion, the peasant leaders’ duo highlighted various issues of farmers of Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting had the participation of Kisan leaders from 28 states and union territories. The main objective of the conference was to get together and discuss various issues confronting the farmers’ community of the country and Tadap saod he highlighted various issueslike, ‘Karz mafi’ (farm loan waiver), farmer suicides, marketing & wholesale facilities, market price of produce, warehouse facility and alike.

Highlighting the farmers’ problems, he referred to Arunachal Pradesh as a fruits hub and wanted that the State government to take care of the farmers’ community.

He informed that there are more than 800 farmers registered with the organisation and hoped that the State and Central governments, being governed by the same party, would solve the problems of the farmers at the earliest, a party release informed here today.
