Stolen ‘Mountain Terrain Bike’ Recovered Within 40 minutes

ITANAGAR: In a timely action by the team of capital police under the supervision of SP Tumme Amo recovered a stolen Mountain Terrain Bike (MTB) -- a cycle used by professionals -- within 40 minutes on Wednesday. A nin-year old boy was detained by the police in connection with the case. He was later let off after warning. Reportedly, the Itanagar police station received a complaint from one Tajum Dere, professional MTB cyclist from Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday morning that his MTB cycle was stolen, which was parked in Itanagar Gompa Comlex while he was visiting the Gompa. The matter was intimated immediately to the SP Capital who initiated prompt action and sent his team of police personnel to locate the stolen cycle following which the same was recovered from the nine-year-old boy in the Gompa area.

Tajum, an ace cyclist from State, has recently created a record by successfully completing a super randonneur, a long distance cycling sport of 200, 300, 400 and 600 kilometres.

On Wednesday morning, he cycled to Itanagar from Guwahati and was visiting the monastery when his cycle was lifted.

Meanwhile, the cyclist has extended deep gratitude to the Capital Police especially SP Amo and everyone for their help in recovering the cycle which he said is the only possession he has.
