
ITANAGAR: Tajum Dere from Arunachal Pradesh's Shi-Yomi district has made history by becoming the first cyclist from the state to qualify for the 38th National Games. This is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, inspiring young athletes and highlighting the state’s rise in competitive sports.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his delight over Tajum Dere's historic achievement of becoming the first cyclist from Arunachal Pradesh to qualify for the 38th National Games.
Sharing his excitement on his official X handle, Khandu wrote, "Tajum Dere, you have pedalled your way into history! Dere is the first cyclist from Arunachal to make it to the 38th National Games. From the hills of Shi-Yomi to the national stage, you are showing the world the way to conquer mountains. My best wishes for the Uttarakhand event."
The Chief Minister’s message shows how important Tajum’s achievement is and the pride it brings to the state.
Tajum expressed his excitement, saying, “It brings me immense joy that, for the first time, MTB cycling has been included in the National Games. I am deeply honoured to represent my state as the first cyclist to qualify for the 38th National Games. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Cycling Federation of India for this opportunity, and to the Arunachal Cycling Association for its unwavering support.”
