Tawang bandh passes peacefully
ITANAGAR: The dawn-to-dusk Tawang bandh called by All Tawang District Students' Union under Operation Clean Drive agitation ended peacefully on Monday without any untoward incident. In the district headquarters, the bandh enforcers did not created any problem and allow the students to attend their classes. A few tourist vehicles were also seen plying without any hindrance.
Interestingly, in a few locations people were found engaged in cleanliness drive. The schools, government offices and banks' transaction were normal. However, the shopkeepers in all the three headquarters downed their shutters during the bandh period.
According to a report from Lungla and Jang administrative headquarters, all schools, government offices, financial institutions functioned normally.
The district administration, along with paramilitary forces and state police, undertook patrolling of every nook and corner of the district and kept strict vigil during the day.
