The Singpho Youth Organisation (SYO) demands fire station in Bordumsa

BORDUMSA Sept 25: The Singpho Youth Organisation (SYO) and All Bordumsa Singpho Students' Union (ABSSU) jointly demanded of the local administration to immediately make provisions for fire safety and fire protection service here in Bordumsa in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh.
In a joint memorandum to ADC Bordumsa Sub Division submitted on Monday afternoon, the Singpho Body reiterating the plight of the common people including the traders during the fire accidents over a period of time often resulting in huge loss demanded an early erection of fire stations in the area.
‘The nearest fire service station being located at a distance of around 35 km from Bordumsa is never on time to reduce the inferno impact upon dwellings and commercial entities’, lamented a shopkeeper after the recent inferno devours all seven shops in a row in Bordumsa township, adding ‘by the time the fire tender arrived, civilians and army personnel already braved the major and imminent threats’.
Earlier a mother and a daughter died on June 19 during a similar fire mishaps at their residential shop located just infront of Bordumsa ADC Office.
‘Every year lots of fire incident take place, engulfing the commercial and residential dwelling houses alike, incurring huge losses to property worth lakhs of rupees in the subdivision, ‘reads the memorandum adding ‘The fire incidence have become a nuisance for the public since the last couple of years’.
