ITANAGAR: Thousands of supporters from all walks of life on Thursday joined the rally organized by team Sol Dodum from Akashdeep to Indira Gandhi (IG) Park, Itanagar.

Sol Dodum is an anti-corruption activist who travelled 225-km from Seppa, East Kameng to Itanagar on foot to stage dharna at the tennis court to protest against corruption in the PHE Department at Seppa, East Kameng district.

Many organizations, associations, forums, non-government organizations (NGOs) and public from all districts of the State participated in the rally, shouting slogans, holding placards and banners demanding the State Government should fulfil Sol Dodum's charter of demands at the earliest.

Speaking to reporters at IG Park here, Dodum informed that he will be submitting a representation to the Governor pressing a two-point charter of demands in the coming days.

Dodum said that he will wait till May 10 for the fact-finding committee's report, adding that if the report is against his demands, he along with 20 supporters will start marching on foot towards Delhi on May 12 to press the two-point charter of demands before the Government of India.

"Our plan is to stage protest in Delhi for 3 months and 12 days, which is around 102 days," said the activist

He appealed to the Governor for some police protection to be deployed in all the States that he is likely to cover during his march towards Delhi.

Earlier, the activist has submitted a memorandum to the State Government demanding potable water for Seppa township, besides a probe by the SIC of the State police against Executive Engineer (EE) of PHE&WS, Seppa, Bharat Sonam for alleged corruption.

He has also demanded transfer of EE Bharat Sonam and the East Kameng Deputy Commissioner (DC) from the district.
