Three youths from Arunachal Pradesh have cracked the civil service exams (2022) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), results of which were declared on Tuesday.

ITANAGAR: Three youths from Arunachal Pradesh have cracked the civil service exams (2022) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), results of which were declared on Tuesday.

The youths who cleared the prestigious exam include Pebika Lego (All India rank 290), Tenzin Yangki (545) and Austin Tayeng (747). They are Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officers. While Pebika Lego is a 2016 batch APSC officer, Tenzin Yangki is from the 2017 batch and Austin Tayeng is from the 2021 batch. Among the three, Yangki is the daughter of former minister Thupten Tempa. As many as eight candidates from the north-eastern state have cleared the UPSC civil service exam 2021, including Tenzin Chonzom, Zing Messar, Mukbang Pertin, Imar Ete, Ejoy Ketok, Bullo Manku, Durin Dai and Sange Tenzin. This year, a total number of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment by the UPSC.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the youths for their success. Taking to Twitter Khandu said, “Heartiest congratulations to Pebika, Tenzin and Austin. You all have brought laurels to us.”

“Your feat is inspiring for aspiring Civil Servants. As members of India’s Steel Frame, I am sure all you will make us proud by serving the state and the country. My best wishes!” Khandu said in another tweet.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also congratulated the trio for their success. “Extending my heartiest congratulations to Ms Pebika Lego, Ms Tenzin Yangki and Dr Austin Tayeng for successfully cracking the UPSC CSE 2022. Their hard work, perseverance and academic prowess have paid off, earning them well-deserved rewards,” Mein wrote in his official twitter handle.

“Let their success serve as an inspiration of hope for all those who aspire to contribute to the betterment of our nation through public service. Wishing them the very best in their future endeavors,” Mein said in another tweet.
