Three drug peddlers arrested from Margherita in Tinsukia district

JAGUN: Drugs smuggling has been going on in full swing at various areas of Jagun on the Assam-Arunachal border as well as Ledo and Lekhapani in the Margherita sub-division of Assam.

Based on a tip-off, a team of Ledo police headed by the Officer in Charge Uttam Tamang laid a trap and arrested three drugs peddlers from Margherita on Friday evening. The drug peddlers have been identified as Subham Roy, Kale Sonar Acharjee and Mahendra Mondol from Margherita in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam. Police have seized 38.9 grams of brown sugar from the trio travelling in a vehicle.
