

PASIGHAT : The Department of Women & Child Development (WCD) along with the District Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell organized a training-cum-awareness programme to sensitize women on the importance of water and its conservation at Tekang village community hall near here on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director-ICDS Machi Gao briefed about water conservation and its management. She said that water is the most important natural resource, essential to sustain all forms of life. She emphasized on its judicious use not only during domestic works but everywhere possible. She said the free flow of potable water is the leading cause for its scarcity in many places in the state. This can only be controlled through awareness and training at all levels.
