Training for tourist cops conducted in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: In a bid to sensitize on importance of tourism, Department of Tourism has conducted training programme for the recently deployed tourist police of the state here at State Food Craft institute (SFCI), Indira Gandhi Park on Wednesday.
Around 45 police personnel from all over the state led by Inspector Tasong Mingki as coordinator had participated in the day long training programme. In her keynote address Assistant Director Tourism and SFCI In-charge Bengia Manna Sonam highlighted about the rich culture, biodiversity, and adventure tourism and urged the khaki personnel to imbibe the sense of responsibility
in promoting tourist in the state.
“Tourist police can play a vital role in developing the tourism in the state. We need to work with close coordination to create conducive atmosphere for tourism in the state”, she said.
The tourism assistant director also exhorted them to maintain cleanliness and hygienic in their respective work place and home as well.
Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operator Association President John Panye asked the trainees to maintain politeness and discipline while interacting with the tourists.
“Police can play a vital role in providing safety and security to the tourist. You need to maintain politeness and discipline while interacting with them so that it brings good impression to them”, Panye said.
