Itanagar: In a bizarre incident that occurred in Arunachal Pradesh, a truck had damaged 8 vehicles after it slumped over them along the national highway.

The incident took place near the Zero-point in Itanagar. As per reports, the truck had broken down in the middle of the road and had suddenly stopped moving. In order to move the truck, another truck was called in. The second truck set the first truck in motion by pulling it with the help of a string. However, the string proved to be too weak to pull the second struck. This caused the first struck to slump over the vehicles that had been parked in the area, damaging them in the process.

The damaged vehicles include five scootys, one autorickshaw, one duster and one scorpio. It is to be mentioned that three of the scootys are now in an un-repairabe condition. Fortunately, no persons were hurt in the unusual series of events.

The police were soon called but the drivers escaped from the scene before any action could be taken against them.

The OC of the Itanagar Police Station, Phassang Simi, informed that the truck that was being pulled bears registration no. AS02 MC6C 5434 and was being pulled with the help of a rope by the second truck.

He said, "As both the trucks were moving up ahead after crossing Zero-point tinali, the rope which was pulling the second truck broke making it slide down the path damaging many vehicles on the way. The truck finally stopped near KFC."

He added that the search for the truck owners and drivers are on as they will have to compensate for the damaged vehicles as per Indian law.
