Two people arrested for trying to sell pistol

NAHARLAGUN, Aug 26: Naharlagun Police on Sunday arrested two persons for trying to sell a pistol (7.65mm, RP-156850) along with six live rounds to a client from a petrol depot located at Banderdewa on Sunday. The accused were identified as Kipa Tatung of Karsingsa and Phassang Taha. Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan informed that acting on a tipoff that some miscreants were trying to sell a pistol at Naharlagun, the police carried out the raid and arrested them. “The pistol and the six live rounds of ammunition were seized from their possession,” he added. A case — NLG PS Case No-147/18 u/s 25 (1) (a) Arms Act — was registered and both the accused persons are currently in police custody.
The police team was led by Sub Inspector SS Jha. The arrest was made under the supervision of the Officer in-Charge of Naharlgun Police Station Inspector Nikom Riba and SDPO Make Bui.
