Unemployed engineers demand creation of posts

Our correspondent

Itanagar, May 15: Claiming that despite creation of at least five transmission divisions under the Power Department not a single post has been created in any category, the All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical, Electronic; Mechanical & Computer Engineers Association has demanded the State government to create adequate posts.

Addressing reporters here, Association president Ralung Rigom claimed that presently the executive engineer posts are manned by assistant engineers (AEs) and AE’s post by junior engineers in those divisions, thereby depriving the unemployed engineers who are running from pillar to post in search of government jobs. Further, stating that not a single post has been advertised in various departments like Power, Hydropower, APEDA, PHED, Transport, Police, Housing, Urban Development, etc., since 2011, the Association strongly urged the State government for immediate creation of technical posts in those departments.

While taking serious note of deputation as well as officiating engineers in various departments, the Association demanded for immediate cancellation of deputation and officiating system and instead conduct fresh examinations according to the recruitment rules of the departments. “Everybody deserves a chance and government should immediately scrap the officiating and deputation system prevailing in various departments so that unemployed engineers are absorbed,” asserted general secretary Doni Nyicyor, adding that officiating and deputation system has become stumbling block for many aspiring and eligible candidates of the State.
