ITANAGAR: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Cooperation and Development of North East Region BL Verma inspected various completed and ongoing projects in the Namsai district on Tuesday.
The Minister, who is on a three-day visit to Namsai, inspected the integrated water supply project at Marua, Chongkham and took stock of the unit to ensure that its benefit reaches the people.
Verma also inspected the completed indoor stadium implemented under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR). He also inspected the proposed site for outdoor stadium and CT scan unit installed at the Namsai district hospital under NESIDS.
Later, the Minister attended the inaugural event of the Scientific Fish and Meat market constructed under CM's District Innovation and Challenge Fund at Old Market, Namsai. The market will facilitate retail selling of fish and meat to buyers across the district.
Verma lauded the team for meeting targets and said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is gearing towards unprecedented growth in terms of infrastructure development and he is committed to giving opportunities to sports enthusiast.
MLAs Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Jummum Ete Deori, Namsai Zilla Parishad chairperson Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, and senior district officials accompanied the Minister, an official communiqué informed here on Wednesday.
