Veterinary & Fisheries Minister Tage Taki distributed free fish seeds, feed

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Veterinary & Fisheries Minister Tage Taki along with legislator Tana Hali distributed 1, 50,000 fish seeds and formulated fish feeds to 150 progressive farmers of Papumpare district at Emchi village here on Monday.

The programme was organized by the Department of Fisheries, Yupia under the banner "An Initiative Towards Maximizing Fish Production: Free Fish Seed Distribution to Progressive Fish Farmers."

Interacting with the farmers, Taki stressed upon youth of the State to take up pisciculture and other agri-allied activities in a professional way to attain self-dependency and quality reliability.

Besides, he also emphasized on the profit in this sector and assured that assistance would be provided under the dynamic leadership Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

In his short speech, legislator Tana Hali highlighted on the importance of aquaculture and the health benefits of having fresh fishes.

Meanwhile the District Fisheries Development Officer (DFDO), Yupia informed that about 48 MT of fishes were sold during the lockdown period within the capital complex with the support of local fish farmers and about 7 million fish seeds have been produced so far in the Government Fish Farm, Emchi. The seed distribution would be done in a phased manner till July and the demands of the fish farmers of the district would be attained without the need of importing fish seed from neighbouring States.
