BOMDILA: The four legislators of West Kameng district held a meeting to make the lone Government College Bomdila (GCB) into a model college with better and improved infrastructure, academic excellence and foraging into human resource development on Tuesday.

Committed in making the premiere institution into a role model, MLA cum chairman of District Development Committee (DDC) Phurpa Tsering assured to prioritize infrastructure development of the college and placement of supporting staff.

He also assured to invite CM Pema Khandu for inauguration of the new College building in order to apprise him of further developments required.

However, he cautioned the executing agencies to prepare realistic DPRs and to do justice to their profession.

Earlier, MLA Kumsi Sidisow expressing displeasure over the road condition connecting the new college campus directed the concerned executing agency to execute the work as per the DPR and without any compromise in quality or quantity.

He also sought an opportunity to interact with the collegians on a later date to instill in them a sense of belongingness and to make responsible citizens out of the boys.

Assuring to provide a driver for the college bus which was driverless for the last three years as a stop gap arrangement, Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki called upon the Legislators, the faculty members and the people of the district to help in making the College a role model.

Meanwhile, GCB Principal S Khandu elaborated on the need for further infrastructure development and the need for specific staff informed that the college in the new campus would be functional from the first week of September.

MLAs Dongru Siongju and DW Kharma along with all the Superintendent Engineers and Executive Engineers of the Work departments, HODs and public leaders attended the meeting.

The Legislators also inspected the administrative and the academic blocks and expressed their satisfaction over the quality of work.
