ITANAGAR: West Siang deputy commissioner Mamu Hage, on Saturday while chairing the monthly district-level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting, emphasised the need for timely completion of all central and state flagship programmes. She also issued several key directives during the meeting to streamline ongoing developmental works in the district. Addressing the heads of departments and administrative officers, the DC instructed all executing departments to strictly adhere to deadlines and avoid any delay in implementing schemes. She specifically stated that land compensation should not be entertained during bridge construction works. Any related issues must be immediately reported to the concerned administrative officers, given the importance of these projects.

Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), she urged the rural works department (RWD) to work closely with local panchayat leaders to prevent disturbances during road construction. The progress of the material recovery facility (MRF), being developed by the urban development department, was also discussed. The DC directed the power department to promptly address electricity issues to ensure the MRF functions effectively, especially for the health department. On the health front, the deputy commissioner informed that West Siang has not reported any malaria cases in the past three years. She further instructed that under the Nikshay Mitra scheme, all tuberculosis (TB) patients in the district must be adopted by zilla parishad members (ZPMs) and heads of departments.
