West Siang District Administration to Intensify Inner Line Permit Checking

Itanagar: The West Siang district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has chalked out plans to check Inner Line Permit (ILP) violators in the district besides containing growing nuisances of drug peddling and violation of Motor vehicle Acts.

A meeting was convened by in-charge DC C Chukhu on Monday to plan elaborate arrangements to contain the growing menace of ILP violation and drug peddling in the district, official sources informed.

It has been decided to open up check gates at Bam, Sipu Bridge, and Patum to check the flow of men and materials while, magistrates and police would monitor rent houses, hotels, worksites and persons who are engaged as a labourer without Inner Line Permit. Night patrolling would be carried out in all the locations of the district, the sources said.

Aalo police station officer in charge informed that five cases of NDPS have been registered and intensified checking would go on in different locations.

The police had also arrested seven persons in connection with gambling who defied prohibitory order, the sources said.
