Work on challenges: Governor B D Mishra

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Friday exhorted the passing out students of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) to work on the challenges confronting the present day society. Gracing the XVIth convocation of the central varsity at Rono Hills Doimukh near here, the governor urged the students to fight drug abuse, oppose and thwart insurgency, stop the beguiled youth from joining the unlawful acts, promote child education, especially the girl child education, promote Swachhta Abhiyan, contribute towards the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation and preserve, protect and promote the environment. Congratulating the graduating students, Dr Mishra urged upon them to contribute towards nation building. He said that the society has enabled them to pursue and earn the academic degree and now it is their turn to pay back to the society. He advised them to work hard, be focused and sacrifice for higher good of the society and the Nation. “In every action, initiative and step, ensure honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, audit and mid course correction,” the governor advocated.

Dr Mishra advised the students of the varsity to study hard, set goal and earn knowledge. He said that life is all about mental development and physical fitness, therefore, the students must devote themselves to their studies and take active part in games, sports and extra curriculum activities.

He encouraged the students to be mission oriented and be self disciplined, respect your teachers and pursue knowledge.

The Governor also exhorted the members of the faculty to be friend, philosopher, guide and coach for the students. He said that by shaping the students, the teachers are shaping the future of the society, state and the nation.
