ITANAGAR: Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Rajesh S has launched a three-day workshop-cum-capacity building training on ‘Climate Change and Human Health’ (CCHH) for the officials of 25 districts, including Itanagar.

The workshop, which began on Monday, is specifically for the District Surveillance Officers (DSOs), District Epidemiologists (DEs) and Data Manager (DM)/Data entry Operator (DEO). The workshop would conclude on Wednesday, official sources informed here.

The prime motive behind the workshop is to provide an understanding of the importance of CCHH, its surveillance and monitoring mechanisms as per the guidelines from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Also, the workshop focuses to train the District Surveillance Units in better planning and implementation of the Vertical Health Programs. The training also focuses on building relationships among the Department of Health with other stakeholders of Climate Change so that they can complement each other in various public health response-related activities.

In his short speech, Rajesh elaborated on the Pakke Tiger Reserve-2047 Declaration, the way forward, and the Report and Role of the Health Department in Climate Change and Human Health.

Meanwhile, the MD of the State National Health Mission (NHM), Marge Sora advised emphasizing the action plan and encouraged the participants to carry forward the skills they learn from the training in public health intervention in the State.

Earlier, Director of Health Services (DHS) Moromor Lego, Associate Professor TRIHMS Tamar Paleng, Ratan Ram, and others also spoke on various topics relating to the workshop.
