Assam CM expresses grief over death of Congress leader Devananda Konwar

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minster Sarbananda Sonowal has expressed grief over the death of Congress leader Devananda Konwar. He was 77. He passed away Saturday morning.

The CM tweeted to express his grief on the demise.

Konwar had joined the Indian National Congress in 1955. Among many of his achievements, he had taught in the English Department at Cotton College. He had worked for the American Standard Vacuum Oil Company in Mumbai. He joined Gauhati High Court Bar in November 1969. He was the Governor of Tripura, West Bengal and Bihar.
