100 solar STWs to be installed at Project Gorukhuti in Darrang district

MANGALDAI: In another positive response and support in carrying out agriculture farming by the educated unemployed youth of Gorukhuti area in Darrang district through 'Project Gorukhuti'-the dream project of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the State Irrigation department has sanctioned 100 Solar Shallow Tube Wells (STW) to be installed at the land already handed over to 'Project Gorukhuti'. The Irrigation department will install these STWs under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) sponsored by NABARD. This novel scheme will cost an approximate total amount of Rs 7 crore.
Chairman of Project Gorukhuti-cum-legislator Padma Hazarika, accompanied by legislator of Sipajhar Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi and in presence of a large number of indigenous farmers and volunteers of Project Gorukhuti, laid the foundation of the scheme at Moluwa Sar of Dhalpur area. Executive Engineer of Mangaldai Irrigation Division Er Nripendra Mohan Das, Assistant Engineer Keshab Kumar Sarma, Circle Officer of Sipajhar Revenue Circle Er Kamaljeet Sarma, District Agriculture Officer Jyotish Nath also attended the function.
