DEMOW: An export consignment of paddy, Kon Joha, of 10,000 kg to Dubai was flagged off by Pijush Hazarika, State Water Resources Department and Information, Public Relations Department Minister on Sunday, in the presence of Sushanta Borgohain, MLA of 95 No. Demow constituency from Garbhaga Bandarmari, Demow.
Asif Bora, District Agriculture Officer, Amrit Saikia, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Gonesh Pohuchungi, District Agriculture Information Officer, Biman Handique, Marketing Coordinator, and Nilutpal Mahanta, the local Agriculture Extension Assistant were present in the programme.
The entire consignment was arranged by Jyoti Agriculture Service Group headed by Horen Tamuli of Udaypur, under the initiative of Atul Bora, State Agriculture Department Minister, with an aim to increase the farmers’ income through good market linkage to both domestic and overseas markets. The initiative was facilitated by Safe Agritrade Pvt. Ltd., a stakeholder based in Kolkata.
The 1st consignment of the same quantity of premium paddy Kon Joha was exported to Vietnam by the same exporter in March 2025.
