110th Birth anniversary of poet Gopal Singh Nepali observed in Baksa

UDALGURI: The 110th birth anniversary of national poet Gopal Singh Nepali was observed at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi High School at Guwabari in Baksa with a day-long programme.

The BTR Gorkha Samaj coordinated this programme. Writer Tarapati Upadhyaya lit the lamp on the occasion while Kuber Chandra Chhetry garlanded a replica of Gopal Singh Nepali. The floral tribute programme was initiated by Baidyanath Upadhyaya. The commemoration meeting was chaired by Lohit Upreti, the adviser of BTR Gorkha Samaj. Baidyanath Upadhyaya, national award winning writer, delivered the keynote address on the life and works of Gopal Singh Nepali. Madhab Chhetry, the nominated MCLA of BTC, also spoke on the occasion. He expressed his willingness to initiate works for the welfare of people in the region.
