12 held for murder of labourer

JOYSAGAR, May 24: The Mathurapur Police of Sivasagar district booked as many as 12 persons for the alleged murder of a tea garden labourer, Ratan Karmakar (43) on May 20. Ratan was a worker of the Mathurapur Tea Estate and he was brutally murdered in Mathurapur labour line 3 on May 20 by a mob. Later, Ratan’s wife Parvati lodged an FIR following which police booked 12 persons on Wednesday.
