123 best school management committees, mother groups felicitated in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: Total 123 best school management committees and mother groups of Sivasagar district were felicitated in Sivasagar on Thursday.

The event, organized under the auspices of the Education Department of Sivasagar, was inaugurated with lighting of lamp by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Megha Nidhi Dahal in presence of Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar, Kamal Jyoti Gogoi.

Inaugurating the programme, the Deputy Commissioner said that schools had a pivotal role to play in developing students as human resources. Dahal also called for maintaining good coordination between the school management committees and the teachers.

Gracing the event, Sushanta Borgohain, MLA of Thowra constituency, launched a website on information about schools in Sivasagar district and government guidelines. The event was attended by a large number of dignitaries, including renowned musician Manash Robin.
