126th birth anniversary of Netaji observed in Udalguri district
Commemorating Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary
TANGLA: Commemorating Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Statue Committee, Tangla hosted a two-day grand event paying rich tributes to the leader. On the first day of celebration on Monday, the national tricolor was unfurled in front of the statue of Netaji at Tangla town of the Udalguri district, followed by fruit and food distribution to patients of Tangla CHC by working president of the celebration committee, Kamal Chowdhury along with noted citizens,Ashim Roy and Sankar Sarkar.
In the evening, children participated in quiz and music competition which was graced by Mangaldai Lok Sabha MP, Dilip Saikia; BTC EM Diganta Baruah. MP Saikia recalled the unmatched contributions of Netaji in the nation's freedom struggle and regarded him an epitome of unity,integrity and diversity. He lauded the participation of people from diverse communities and different religions in every cultural event of Tangla.
On the second day,BTC Deputy CEM Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker, Biswajit Daimary; BTC Executive Member, Arup Kumar Dey attended the cultural night programme wherein EM Dey enthralled the gathering by a singing a number of songs at the venue in Pujakhola locality of Tangla town.
Secretary of the celebration committee,Govindo Debnath anchored the event where Sare Ga Ma Pa fame and vocalist of Bohemian Baul, Ananya Chakraborty enthralled the gathering with her melodious rendition. A magician team of Jitumoni Deka and DJ performance also entertained the audience.
