12th Dibrugarh Book Fair to begin from November 26

DIBRUGARH: The 12th Dibrugarh Book Fair is slated to be held here at Dibrugarh Chowkidinghi Playground under the aegis of Milan Jyoti Sangha, in collaboration with All Assam Book Publishers and Booksellers Association, from November 26 to December 7

According to organizing president of the book fair, Amiyo Kumar Hazarika, and secretary Niruj Kumar Dutta, the former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, noted writer and columnist, Dr Nagen Saikia will inaugurate the book fair in the presence of Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, Waterways of India and Ayush Department, Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameswar Teli, Dibrugarh MLA and chairman of Assam Industrial Development Corporation, Prasanta Phukan and Managing Director of Brahmaputra Crackers and Polymer Limited, Reep Hazarika. The inaugural function will also be graced by Assam's Sports, Youth Affairs, Tourism and Power Minister Bimal Bora. Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu will formally release the souvenir, published to mark the occasion.

Paiem Thi Gohain, writer and columnist, will anchor an intimate programme with the former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha and inaugurator of the book fair, Dr Nagen Saikia .

Book release function, career-centric programme for youths, cultural function, and a number of seminars on tourism, journalism and literature will mark the 12-day long Dibrugarh Book Fair.
