13 Under Quarantine in Lakhimpur for being in contact with COVID patient

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur District Health Department admitted two more people, who came in contact with Babu Ali, the COVID-19 patient of the district, in mass quarantine facility on Tuesday. His parents and aunt and other eight people have already been admitted in Telahi Model Hospital. Including them, a total of 13 people of the district with suspected high risk factor of the pandemic exposure have been kept under observation in connection with Babu Ali’s case.

The district Health Department sent two swab samples with suspected coronavirus exposure on Tuesday to Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, ICMR, RMRC, Lahowal of Dibrugarh district for COVID-19 test. On the other hand, reports of some sent samples were intimated to the District Health Department from the ICMR on Tuesday and they tested negative. According to the Health Department, a total of 46 swab samples sent to the ICMR for COVID-19 test from the district till date had tested negative.

On the other hand, 37 more persons have been kept in mass quarantine facility in various establishments of North Lakhimpur town like North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital, Punjab Hotel and Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya campus. The quarantine centre at Basudev Kalyan Trust was shifted to Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya campus on Tuesday based on public demand. The number of people stamped for home quarantine in the district increased up to 4,010 on Tuesday. The Health Department stamped 60 more people of the district for home isolation on Tuesday.
