17th Martyrs' Day of All Assam Adivasi Students Association observed in Namrup

NAMRUP: In order to pay tribute to the eight martyrs who sacrificed their lives during a 12-hour strike to demand ST status for Adivasis on July 25, 2003 at Khusubil, the 17th Martyrs' Day of All Assam Adivasi Students Association (AAASA) was observed on Saturday under the aegis of AAASA, Dibrugarh Committee, in association with AAASA, Naharkatia at Hapjan Parbat Tea Estate auditorium.

The programme started with the hoisting of flag by Madan Bagwar, president of Dibrugarh district committee, AAASA, followed by swahidtarpan by MonojUrang ,general secretary, Dibrugarh, AAASA.

Deben Urang , general secretary of central committee, AAASA, was present on the occasion and delivered a lucid speech on the long-standing demand of the Adivasis for ST status.
