18-month-old girl child drowns at Sootea

JAMUGURIHAT: The body of an 18-month-old girl child of one Abdul Karim, a resident of No 2 Adabheti village under Sootea police station was found floating on a ditch located behind the house on Monday evening. According to information, the girl child was playing at the backyard of the house and fell into a ditch. The family members spotted her floating in the ditch. They then rushed to Biswanath Chariali sub-divisional hospital but doctors declared her dead. Later on, Sootea police sent the body for postmortem to Behali.
